APOPKA, Fla. — A woman who works with at-risk students at Apopka High School was arrested after she left her child in deplorable conditions while she got drunk behind their apartment complex, according to authorities.
Jennifer Oyola didn't respond to questions from Channel 9's Mario Boone as she left the Orange County Jail Tuesday night.
A neighbor reported seeing Oyola's 7-year-old son pacing outside their building about midnight.

He told the neighbor he was looking for his mother because she went to work at her second job at Sonny's restaurant at 5:30 p.m. but never returned home after her shift.
The neighbor called police when she couldn't find Oyola at Sonny's. When officers went inside her apartment, they found trash and cat feces everywhere, including on the child's clothing, as well as knives on the kitchen floor.
They later found Oyola smelling of alcohol behind the complex. They took her into custody.
School officials said they hired Oyola to help at-risk students build the skills they need to get jobs.
Boone learned that Oyola will be suspended from her job.
