Congressmen Grayson, Mica re-elected to U.S. House

CENTRAL FLORIDA — Congressman Alan Grayson and Congressman John Mica have been re-elected to the U.S House of Representatives, according to official elections results.

Grayson defeated Republican candidate Carol Platt for the District 9 seat. He was first elected to the District 9 seat in 2012.

"I'm just pleased for all the good we can do for people. I dee a possbility now to improve education in central Florida, improve transportation, to make sure we have better, well-paying jobs with more benefits," he said.

Grayson beat Platt by more than 10 points.

He said his ability to ger things done in congress made a difference in the race.

Meanwhile, Mica beat out Democrat Wes Neuman for the District 7 seat. Mica has held the position since 1993.
