ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orlando sex offender accused of preying on an underage girl faces charges in a new case.
Fred Lucius, 33, is accused of raping a Seminole County teenager whom he allegedly lured to Orlando.
Investigators said the convicted sex offender, who was on probation, met a teenager twice.
Police are calling Lucius a “serial rapist.”
“Guys like this don't stop,” said Lt. John O'Grady, of the Orlando Police Department. “They feed off this type of crime."
Lucius was arrested in three cases. A year later, he was sentenced to five years in prison after accepting a plea deal in one of the cases that involved child sex.
Earlier this year, Polk County sheriff’s deputies arrested the registered sex offender again.
They say he was grooming a girl as a sex slave and had her send him naked photos.
Neighbors remember the raid on his home.
“I didn't know what was going on,” said neighbor Brian Strickler. “It was a surprise because it's not something you see every day at your neighbor's house."
Since then, investigators learned Lucius is connected to another case.
According to Orlando police, he met a 15-year-old girl on a “sugar daddy” website.
The girl told police she rode Sunrail from Sanford to Orlando to meet him, and that he brought her to his home, tied her up and had sex with her.
“The key will be getting the girl to cooperate or forcing her to participate in the prosecution,” said WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer.
Sheaffer said consensual sex is not a defense because the teenager is a minor.
If Lucius is convicted on the rape charges, he'll face a minimum of 50 years in prison. He is currently being jailed without bond.
