Crayola Experience coming to Florida Mall in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando is getting a colorful new attraction: The Crayola Experience is coming to the Florida Mall.

Crayola made the announcement Tuesday morning.

The 70,000-square-foot Crayola Experience will be a hands-on attraction for the whole family.

The entertainment complex gives kids plenty of opportunities to draw, create and take home what they've imagined.

The Crayola Experience will be taking Nordstrom's place.

Company leaders described it as a family experience and a way to foster creativity in children.

Crayola corporate strategy vice president Victoria Lozano said, "We will offer 25 hands-on experiences for the whole family."

In addition to the attraction, there will be a Crayola store. Crayola said they only have one other location in Easton Pennsylvania. That's where the company is headquartered.

"Our mission is to help parents and teachers raise creatively alive kids," said Lozano.

Crayola said they chose Orlando for a second location, which is a multimillion-dollar project, because it's a family vacation destination.

Florida Mall general manager Brian Hanson said, "This was just a unique opportunity to add an attraction that's very different."

Crayola Experience at the Florida Mall will open its doors next summer.
