PENSACOLA, Fla. — A Pensacola police officer was fired and charged with assault after he was caught on dash cam video using excessive force on a woman during a traffic stop.
The video shows the woman being pulled over and ignoring the officer's order for her to remain in her car.
The officer grabbed her left arm and slammed her into the side of her car, according to the video.
The video also shows the officer then grabbing the back of her head, lifting her off the ground and slamming her into the car again.
Police Chief Chip Simmons said he was shocked and disappointed.
The officer's name was not released.
