VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Two bomb threats were called into different court offices in Volusia County Friday, prompting evacuations and extensive searches, deputies said.
The first threat was called into the Volusia County Clerk of the Court’s Office call center in the courthouse in DeLand, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said.
The bomb threat did not specify a particular courthouse, investigators said.
The courthouse in DeLand was cleared by law enforcement and nothing suspicious was found, deputies said.
A second bomb threat was called in later in the day to the State Attorney’s Office at the S. James Foxman Justice Center in Daytona Beach, the VCSO said.
That facility, as well as the Volusia County Courthouse Annex were evacuated and searched, deputies said.
Investigators said they did not find anything suspicious in either building
The threats were being investigated by the sheriff’s office.
