VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A deadly crash involving a semi-truck shut down part of Interstate 95 in Volusia County Thursday morning, causing traffic delays in the area.
5:55 a.m. update:
The northbound lanes of I-95 have reopened, and traffic is moving through the area,
It’s still unclear how many people were hurt and what caused the deadly crash.
Original report:
The crash was reported shortly after 1 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said at least one person was killed in the crash.
The northbound lanes of I-95 were shut down around 1:48 a.m. as crews worked at the scene.
Traffic has been diverted for several hours, with vehicles being directed off the interstate at mile marker 265.
The crash happened in a busy area near the intersection of Tanger Outlets and Buc-ee’s, where traffic was impacted during the morning commute.
Drivers traveling through the area should expect delays and consider an alternate route while crews continue working at the scene.
