MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. — Deputies are investigating an exchange of gunfire between the occupants of two vehicles in the parking lot of a Merritt Island Steak 'n Shake, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said.
The shooting occurred close to 3 a.m. Saturday, deputies said, at the Steak N Shake at 790 E. Merritt Island Causeway.
Deputies said the occupants of one vehicle shot at the occupants of another vehicle, who returned fire.
A stray bullet struck a third vehicle, deputies said.
Deputies have located the vehicles involved in the shootout.
No arrests have been made.
The shooting is still under investigation.
