Christopher Butler

TAMPA BAY, Fla. — A Tampa Bay-area man has been accused of biting off the tip of a woman's middle finger after she waved it in his face during an argument.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Christopher Butler, 32, of Seffner was arrested Monday night at his home after Hillsborough sheriff's deputies responded to a battery call and found a woman lying on a lawn chair, a half-inch of her finger missing.

Authorities said she underwent surgery to repair the wound.

Deputies said Butler had a cut on his nose and was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation before he was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail.

Butler faces a felony charge of aggravated battery with great bodily harm. He is being held on $7,500 bail.
