Oviedo armed burglary victims had been in home less than a month, neighbor says

Three people, including two teenagers were arrested in a home invasion in which an Oviedo homeowner was injured, deputies said.
Oviedo police responded to the Balmoral Court home Wednesday night.
The residents told deputies they woke up and found four suspects burglarizing their home and vehicle.
The homeowner said she yelled for them to get out of her house and for her husband to get his gun.
She said that’s when one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired at her multiple times.
She said one of the bullets ricocheted off something in the garage and hit her shoulder.
Neighbor Walter Scott told Channel 9 that his daughter sold the house to the victims less than a month before the burglary.
"She was here 26 years and never, ever had any problems like that," Scott said. "Never."
Police said the suspects drove away in a Jeep and an officer tried to stop them on State Road 417.
Deputies said the suspects crashed near Aloma Avenue and ran into a nearby wooded area.

Three of the suspects, Tyjijuan Williams, 18, Alyssa Holsopple, 17, and Brandon Garcia Rodriguez, 16, were caught and arrested.
A fourth person remains on the loose.

Neighbor Patrick Laumer spoke with the homeowners Wednesday and said they were terrified by the experience.

"You could just kind of see the fear on their faces and you don't want that anywhere you move," he said.

Laumer realized his vehicle had been burglarized, but investigators did not know if that incident was connected with the home burglary.

This type of thing is very unusual in the neighborhood, Laumer said.

"It feels like a safe place," he said. "We don't have to, you know, worry about them out in the neighborhood until something like this."

Scott agreed, saying he couldn't believe the house where his daughter lived for more than two decades would be targeted by burglars.

"It's very, very rare that anything happens in our neighborhood," he said.

The homeowners did not want to comment on the incident, but told Channel 9 that they were all physically OK.

Anyone with information about the fourth person involved is asked to call Crimeline or the Sheriff’s Office.
A $1,000 reward is available for information leading to an arrest.
Williams, Holsopple and Rodriguez are facing armed burglary and resisting arrest charges.
