ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A Chicago gang member was found shot to death in the middle of an Orange County neighborhood late Monday night, deputies said.
Deputies said Antonio Carrasquillo was a known gang member, but they said the shooting on Curry Village Lane near South Goldenrod Road was not gang-related.
Investigators believe the 24-year-old member of the Spanish Cobras was shot through the door of a nearby home.
Investigators said they found some evidence inside the home but have not made any arrests.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office tweeted that when detectives found Carrasquilla he was wearing an Iron Man mask and gloves and that a gun was found nearby.
"Our homicide detectives are arriving, along with our forensics, and they will continue interviewing any witnesses canvassing the area and collecting any evidence they can towards this case," said Lt. Paul Hopkins of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
The victim was taken to Florida Hospital East, where he was pronounced dead.
Chicago police said Carrasquilla was a documented member of the well-known Spanish Cobras, and that he was a familiar face to Chicago police and had a lengthy rap sheet that included weapons charges and kidnapping charges.
Detectives are looking for another person involved in the incident who they said may have also been injured.
