ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies said they are searching for a person who shot and killed Aaron Beavers, 23, on a street outside an apartment complex.
The shooting happened on 40th Street and Ravenwood Avenue, near Orange Blossom Trail.
Neighbors WFTV spoke with said they were surprised to hear about the violence.
Deputies said they received calls about shots being fired at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
"When they arrived here, they found a 23-year-old black male deceased from a gunshot wound. What we know is that he was riding a bicycle when he encountered someone who shot at him," said Deputy Lourdes Clayton of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said they do not know the motive behind the shooting, but believe it was an isolated crime.
"Right now, we have crime scene investigators out here. We have our forensics detectives out here as well to comb the area, collect evidence. They were canvasing the neighborhood, talking to witnesses," said Clayton.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
