TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis held a news conference Tuesday about Florida’s State of Emergency, which was issued due to approaching winter storms.

DeSantis spoke from the state’s Emergency Operations Center in Tallahassee.

DeSantis said the expected conditions in North Florida are projected to constitute a major disaster.

That includes hazardous driving conditions across Tuesday night and into Wednesday.
In Central Florida, a light mix of freezing rain and sleet is possible in parts of Marion County, where a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect.

Parts of Florida’s Panhandle could receive 2 to 4 inches of snow.
