‘Diversity, equity, and inclusion’: Orlando Fashion Week unveils 2023 lineup

ORLANDO, Fla. — A fashion show will take over the stage in the City Beautiful.

On Aug. 1, fashion enthusiasts and city commissioners are coming together to unveil the 2023 Orlando Fashion Week lineup and events.

The announcement will mark a new beginning for the fashion industry in Central Florida.

Fashion designers, models, and makeup artists will work together to create an unforgettable fashion extravaganza that celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Orlando Fashion Week, also known as Orlando International Fashion Week, is a nonprofit organization that aims to strengthen Florida’s tourism through education and entertainment while building up the fashion industry.

One of the highlights will be the partnership between the nonprofit and the Aveda Institute Orlando, known for its beauty education programs.

The collaboration will bring the art of beauty education and fashion together to showcase young talent, promote creativity, and celebrate the diverse communities in Central Florida.

As a pre-event, the institute will host a beauty showcase where students can show their talents in hair design, barber services, and makeup.

In addition to showcasing students’ work, the new partnership will mark the beginning of the Cosmetology & Barbering Scholarship, an opportunity for students to receive financial support, networking opportunities, and mentorship.

The unveiling event will be at the Orlando City Hall Rotunda on Aug. 1 at 6 p.m.

City officials such as Commissioner Regina Hill of District 5 and Luis M. Martinez-Alicea, Deputy Manager of Multicultural Affairs and International Relations, will be at the event.

Event organizers will reveal their fashion designers and artists.

Runway shows, workshops, and more events will also be announced.

The 2023 Orlando Fashion Week will kick off on Nov. 1.
