Downtown Orlando Asian massage parlor was front for prostitution, agents say

ORLANDO, Fla. — Channel 9 was there Tuesday as MBI agents raided a massage parlor in downtown Orlando as part of a prostitution bust.

The agents served a search warrant at the Green T Spa on Colonial Drive near Magnolia Avenue.

Investigators said they were acting on a tip, but said it wasn’t the first time they've made prostitution busts at the business.

Agents said when the undercover detective walked in he was propositioned just a few feet inside the door.

Investigators said 51-year-old Li Zhao was the fourth person arrested on prostitution charges at the business in the past few weeks.

Investigators served a search warrant and seized evidence, walking out with massage tables and other items.

Orlando code enforcement officers were on the scene, too.

Investigators said there seems to be a trend at Asian-style massage parlors, and they wonder if human trafficking is involved.

Eight similar businesses have been shut down in the past three months, and authorities are working to keep those businesses closed permanently.

Investigators hope by taking the equipment it will keep the parlors from reopening at least for a little while.
