Early voting begins this week in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — A lot of voters are already casting their ballots ahead of the November election.

In Orange County on Monday, there was a steady voter turnout, with people saying they’re paying close attention to key issues and that’s why they wanted to make sure they voted early.

Early voting in starts Tuesday Sumter County, Wednesday in Volusia County and Thursday in Marion County.

A big turnout is expected this early voting cycle. Nearly 6 million ballots have already been cast across 39 states in this year’s midterm election, according to data.

In Orange County, voters will decide on an ordinance that would cap rent increases for a year, determine whether or not to approve a penny sales tax increase to fund transportation projects, and cast their ballot in a number of high-profile races.

Mail-in ballots must be returned, not postmarked, by 7 p.m. on Election Day. You can take it to any early voting location during early voting hours.
