Editor notebook: Theme park’s golden age may be just ahead

The “golden age” of Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) theme parks is on the horizon.

That’s according to an often-repeated sentiment from many Disney fans after the theme park giant’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event theme parks showcase was held in Anaheim, California, Aug. 10. The company pulled back the curtain on numerous theme park additions planned and stressed the fact that the additions are coming and are not “blue sky” — a term used to indicate early conceptual planning with no guarantee of ever actually happening.
