BRADENTON, Fla. — A family in Bradenton was struck by lightning, and said they are lucky to be alive.
The family of six was in a tent in their backyard when a storm came through, and then lightning struck.
The Lester family said the lightning struck a tree, and there was an electrical discharge, which then shot through the mother and two of her children.
"It's like the loudest, you know, close up noise you can hear," said mother Lindsey Lester.
"A million trains crashing; very, very loud and scary,” said daughter Joelle Lester.
The family was rushed to Manatee Memorial Hospital.
No one was seriously injured.
