LEESBURG, Fla. — A 74-year-old Mount Dora man was killed in a chain-reaction crash that involved a Leesburg police patrol car, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said.
The crash was reported about 6 p.m. Monday on U.S. 441 and Sleepy Hollow Road in Leesburg.

Lake County Fire Rescue officials said four people, including Officer David Carter, 43, were taken to Leesburg Regional Hospital after the crash, where the 74-year-old man died.
He has not been identified.
Fire Rescue officials said Carter was stopped at a red light when the man’s car crashed into the back of the cruiser, causing a chain reaction crash with two other vehicles in front of Carter.
The driver who hit the patrol car was hospitalized in critical condition and later died.
The other drivers suffered minor injuries
