FORT MCCOY, Fla. — Marion County firefighters are battling a 1-acre brush fire in the Ocala National Forest.
The fire is near the intersection of Forest Road 9 and the Red Trail crossing point, firefighters said.
A malfunctioning all-terrain vehicle caused the fire, firefighters said.
The fire is currently contained in a heavy wooded area.
The U.S. Forestry Service sent an engine, tractor plow and helicopter to help fight the fire.
