Florida developer sues Apopka over denied plans for affordable apartments

A lawsuit has been filed in Orange County over a planned apartment complex near the much-anticipated city center project for one of metro Orlando’s fastest-growing suburbs.

Southwick Commons LTD, a subsidiary of Altamonte Springs-based Wendover Housing Partners LLC, is suing the city of Apopka, seeking to force the northwest Orange municipality to allow the developer to build Southwick Commons, a 195-unit workforce housing community at 461 E. 7th St.
