Florida is set to receive 175,000 Johnson & Johnson COIVD-19 vaccines this week, but none next week, Gov. Ron DeSantis said Thursday.
DeSantis made the announcement at a news conference in Crystal River. He hosted another news conference in Sebring this afternoon.

He said the state still doesn’t know exactly where or when the one-shot vaccine will arrive. But, he said, some federally-run vaccination sites have already received Johnson & Johnson vaccines that are not counted as part of the 175,000 doses the state is expected to get this week.
DeSantis said Florida is expecting additional vaccine shipments in the coming weeks, which he said should allow the state to lower the vaccination eligibility age this month.

So far, he said 54% of seniors in the state have received at least the first dose of the vaccine so far.
