FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — Former Flagler County supervisor of elections Kimberle Weeks has been indicted on 12 counts, according to officials with the Seventh Judicial Circuit's State Attorney's Office Wednesday.
Officials said Weeks is charged with seven counts of interception of oral communication and five counts of disclosure of oral communication.
According to the charging affidavit, Weeks was charged following an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement into a reported recorded conversation at a Flagler County Canvassing Board meeting on Aug. 25, 2014.
Following the serving of a search warrant at the supervisor of elections office, investigators said they found several recordings of people who told investigators that they were recorded without their knowledge or consent.
Weeks turned herself in to Flagler County authorities Wednesday morning and was released after posting a $12,000 bond.
Each of the charges against Weeks is a third-degree felony.
Weeks resigned her position in January and Gov. Rick Scott appointed Kaitlyn Lenhart to serve as supervisor of elections on an interim basis.
