LAKE WALES, Fla. — A new recreational outdoor facility for wounded veterans is officially opening this week in Lake Wales.
"Operation Outdoor Freedom" offers vets recreational experiences such as hunting, fishing and canoeing at no cost.
More than 1,400 veterans have participated so far.
Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam has spearheaded the effort and will attend the facility's opening on Wednesday.
