DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A Georgia teen accused of intentionally driving his van into a motorcycle rider and killing him will remain in the Volusia County Jail after he was denied bail again.
Investigators said Christopher Moore, 19, was driving a green van that hit a motorcycle, dragged it and killed the rider before he drove away and left the victim to die.
A judge still had concerns that Moore is a danger to society even though his mother testified that Moore is a good boy who plans to join the Marines. She said her son would never run someone down.
"Our family is devastated for everything that's going on, but I know deep in my heart that my son does not have the heart to do something like this intentionally," Moore's mother said.

Moore is a senior high school student from Valdosta, Georgia. Investigators said he purposely hit Roger Martin while he was riding his motorcycle after an argument at a bar.
Martin, 41, was left for dead on Fairview Avenue after his motorcycle was dragged several blocks.
Investigators said Moore and his friends were in Daytona Beach for spring break and ran back to Georgia after the incident.
"I'm just happy. I have faith in it. I don't see how you can let somebody out, even if it was an accident. I mean, you don't leave somebody on the side of the road," a member of the victim's family said.
One of the suspect's friends told Channel 9 they had no comment when asked if they thought Moore hit Martin by accident.
Moore will miss his graduation. His next court date is scheduled for June.
