Water testing showed the city’s drinking water meets safety standards

Groveland faces frequent boil notices amid aging water infrastructure

GROVELAND, Fla. — The city of Groveland has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for its northern water service area.

City officials said water samples collected after repairs came back within safe drinking water standards. Residents in the affected area may now return to normal water use.

The advisory was issued Sept. 29 after a large water main break near the Sunshine Water Treatment Plant caused lower-than-normal water pressure. The plant was temporarily shut down while crews assessed the damage and repaired the break.

Officials previously said areas along Cherry Lake Road, State Road 19, Wilson Lake Parkway and U.S. 27 could experience impacts.

The Sunshine Water Treatment Plant has since returned to normal operation.
