Someone broke into 10 cars overnight  outside an Orlando hotel, deputies said.

The woman said that when she walked to her car Thursday morning, she saw several cars with broken windows.

Deputies believe that thieves are targeting tourists visiting the Orlando area.

Victim Andrew Dodds said he and his family were visiting from New Orleans for a Disney vacation and this is the last thing they expected.

"We are still going to go to Disney, we are still going to have a good time, but it is going to be in the back of everybody's mind now, you know?" Dodds said.

Orange County Sheriff deputies were dusting for fingerprints and taking statements from victims.
Deputies said some personal belongings were taken from the vehicles. Many guests said that after reading the signs posted in the parking lot, informing visitors that they were parking at their own risk, they removed the majority of their valuables.

"I know there is a sign that (says) parking (is) at owner's risk. I know that, but 10 cars?" victim Maria Elena Sichert said.

Management said guest safety is its top priority and said in a statement that "the hotel staff will continue to cooperate fully with local authorities in their investigation of this unfortunate incident."

“They had almost said, ‘Let’s just leave our stuff in here,’ and I was like, ‘No, that’s a bad idea. I’ve had my car broken into before.’ So thank God we had brought everything upstairs already,” Dodds said.
Management said they are trying to assist hotel guests.
