Gun, badge stolen from car of retired FDLE agent

LAKELAND, Fla. — Lakeland police are searching for a badge and gun taken from a retired Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent's vehicle.

According to police, the former agent's badge and his Glock 9mm handgun were taken from his vehicle as it was parked outside a Florida Avenue bar.

Police said the vehicle was in the parking lot of Tucker's Southside Package and Lounge about 4:30 p.m. Sunday when someone smashed the rear window and took the items.

According to police, a black canvas briefcase, money, personal checks and a driver's license were also taken.

A witness reported seeing a navy blue car, possibly a Chevy Impala from the mid-1980's. The car was driven by a black male, 20-30 years old.

Police ask that anyone with information about the theft contact the Lakeland Police Department.
