WINTER PARK, Fla. — A man claiming to be a Jimmy John’s delivery driver and an accused gunmen went to a home in Winter Park and robbed a victim, police said.
Police said a black man wearing a signature Jimmy John’s uniform and hat, knocked on a door last Tuesday to ask for directions and then robbed the person who answered the door. He was with a second black male with dreadlocks who was armed with a handgun, police said. It happened at the Lake Killarney Condos at 151 North Orlando Ave.
The victim was able to get away from the robbers and call 911 from a neighbor’s phone, police said.
The men drove off in a dark-colored compact vehicle that also had a Jimmy John’s sign on it, police said.
Management at the apartment complex put letters on residents’ doors warning them of the armed robbery.
