HOLLY HILL, Fla. — A popular Holly Hill car show is returning for its 10th anniversary with a new name honoring the man who helped start the event.
Tony’s Cruisin’ the Hill Car Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, on the front lawn of Holly Hill City Hall.
The event was previously known as Cruisin’ the Hill. The Holly Hill City Commission renamed the show in recognition of founder and longtime organizer Tony Cassata.
Cassata is part of the family behind Bob’s Space Racers, a Holly Hill amusement-game company known for creating the Whac-A-Mole game. City officials said his interest in automobiles and the local car community helped inspire the show a decade ago.
The event began as Cruisin’ the Hill for School Supplies, bringing car enthusiasts together while raising money for local students and teachers.
That mission will continue this year. The city said all vehicle-registration proceeds and sponsorship contributions will benefit Holly Hill School.
Organizers expect more than 200 classic cars, hot rods, race cars, trucks, Jeeps, imports, tuners and motorcycles. The anniversary event will also feature a bicycle showcase with vintage, custom and unusual bikes.
Music, food, awards and other activities are planned throughout the morning.
Spectator admission is free. Vehicle registration costs $10 and will be available onsite the morning of the show.
The event will take place at Holly Hill City Hall, located at 1065 Ridgewood Ave.
