How one agency is addressing the nurse staffing crisis

ORLANDO, Fla. — Channel 9 is looking into the nurse staffing crisis impacting families across Florida and the country.

Many nurses have retired or leave the profession altogether, and now it’s getting worse.

But one national staffing agency with nurses in Orlando is trying to turn it all around, saying they’re digging deeper than just hiring, and going as far as to help the nurses that were on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic with resources they need to have much longer careers than the average shelf life of about two years.

According to the Florida Nurse Work Force Report, to address projected shortages by year 2035, an additional 2,300 RNs and 1,700 LPNs would need to enter the workforce each year.

A conference recently held by nursing staffing agency Intelycare aimed to figure out how to reenergize burned-out nurses, and how to better recruit people into the profession.
