CENTRAL FLORIDA — Alligator hunting season began Monday across Florida.
It’s one of the most popular limited-entry hunts, said Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
More than 10,000 people will apply for an alligator hunting permit, but only 5,000 permits will be given out to the hunters.
A hunter is only allowed to kill two alligators, officials with FWC said.
Legal hunting hours are 5 p.m. through 10 a.m.
Hunting season ends Nov. 1.
