Inmates remove cabinets from Seminole County clerk's office

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — There will soon be more room at the Seminole County clerk’s office for domestic violence victims to file injunctions, clerk Grant Maloy says.

Four county inmates spent Saturday morning moving cabinets out of the office, which the clerk said would have cost $10,000 to move.

WFTV reported previously how the clerk's office had been fighting with the county over the removal of the cabinets.

The clerk said the county instructed him to find a private contractor to remove the cabinets because county workers could not finish the job they had started.

The clerk said the extra space for domestic violence victims should open up in about 60 days.
