Deputies: Driver hits 3 people, leaves crash scene near Davenport

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies are looking for a hit-and-run driver who injured three people near Davenport, the Polk County Sheriff’s office said.

Deputies responded to the Cypress Pointe subdivision off of Old Lake Wilson Road around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators said the driver collided with three people inside the gated complex and then left the crash scene.

A sheriff’s spokesperson said deputies spoke to witnesses, hoping to gather details about the suspect and the suspect’s car.

Officials didn’t say how badly the pedestrians were hurt, but expected to release more details in the case later Thursday morning.
