Investigators said Rohrer broke into the victim’s home Monday morning and was arrested. When police searched the home, Jones, 67, was found dead.

Neighbors said Rohrer did not know the victim and tried to break into several other homes first. They described Jones as loving and very religious, and said she had just retired.

Rohrer remains in the Orange County Jail on burglary charges.

Channel 9 is working to learn if any charges have been filed against Rohrer in connection with Jones' death.
