ORLANDO, Fla. — An 11-year-old girl and a man were hospitalized Tuesday night after part of a go-cart track collapsed at the Magical Midway Thrill Park on International Drive.
Park officials said two wooden planks on the tracks collapsed.
Orange County Fire Rescue said the girl in the go-cart crashed and suffered long, deep cuts, gashes, and she may have broken her arm. She was rushed to Arnold Palmer Hospital. Her current condition is unknown.
Rescue officials said the man also started having chest pains and he was rushed to Dr. Phillips Hospital.
Both victims are expected to recover.
The attraction remained open after the accident, but operators did shut down one of the go-cart tracks.
This is the second time in less than a year WFTV has reported on an accident at the Magical Midway. The park was fined more than $11,000 after a worker fell to his death while trying to fix the park's tallest ride.
The US Department of Labor ruled that the park didn't properly train employees, and exposed them to dangers.
WFTV will check to find out if OSHA will investigate the attraction.
