KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A Kissimmee-area author and U.S. Air Force veteran is sharing his experience living with muscular dystrophy in his book, “Disabled: Finding an Idyllic Life Amid Chaos”.
Kevin D. Robinson said he was diagnosed with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy in 2007. In the years that followed, he experienced declining mobility, increasing dependence on others and challenges rebuilding his identity and sense of purpose.
Robinson said those changes also brought struggles with depression and isolation. His experiences eventually became the foundation for the book, which explores the emotional realities of disability and adjusting to unexpected life changes.
“My story is not simply about muscular dystrophy,” Robinson wrote in his announcement. “It is about learning that losing physical abilities does not mean losing your value, dignity, or opportunity to live a meaningful life.”
Robinson hopes his story will resonate with people and families navigating disability, chronic illness, aging or other personal challenges.
He has also released a book trailer introducing its themes.
