Loyd Jr.’s mother then tells him about Clayton's killing. She tells her son that Loyd is accused of shooting the officer at a Pine Hills Walmart.

Loyd Jr. doesn’t show much reaction, with the exception of a smirk when he finds out that his father got away.

Watch the jailhouse video below:

Mother: "The police too."

Loyd Jr.: "He killed the police too?"

Mother: "Yesterday."

Loyd Jr.: "Yesterday?  I knew he was fitting to start doing that. Where at?"

Mother: "Walmart."

Loyd Jr.: "He got away?"

Mother: "Yes."

Loyd Jr.: "I figured that too."

At that point, Loyd Jr. appeared to smirk as he discussed his father’s alleged actions.

Loyd Jr.: "He just can't kill people in some Walmart. He gotta do it smarter than that. That's just dumb. What was he in Walmart for anyway? He's a criminal."

Loyd Jr. said officer’s asked him about his father after Dixon’s death.

Loyd Jr.: "One of them (the officers) said a little slick comment, like, 'The apple doesn't fall far from the tree huh?"

Loyd Jr. also told his mother a chaplain spoke with him and encouraged him to break the cycle of crime in his family.

Samantha Manning will have more on what Loyd Jr. had to say on WRDQ, TV 27 at 10 p.m. and on Channel 9 at 11 p.m.
