Lake County, long known as a haven for metro Orlando workers seeking less expensive housing, has seen its median home price rise at a rapid clip during the past few years — at a rate that outpaced that of neighboring Orange County by double digits between 2019-2022.
That’s according to Orlando Regional Realtor Association data shared with Orlando Business Journal, which shows the median price of a home sold in Lake County increased 56.2% from $224,000 in 2019 to $349,945 in 2022.
In comparison, Orange County’s median price increased 46.7% from $259,000 in 2019 to $380,000 in 2022.
