Lake Mary doctor faces Medicaid fraud, drug trafficking charges

LAKE MARY, Fla.,None — A Lake Mary doctor is in jail Wednesday night, facing more than 50 counts of Medicaid fraud and drug trafficking charges.

Dr. Ronald Lynch runs Integrative Medicine on Lake Mary Boulevard.

WFTV's Bianca Castro found out the doctor had been seeing patients without a license for months.

We didn't see any patients inside Integrative Medicine of Lake Mary on Wednesday, but authorities said the Lynch saw several patients, even though his federal drug license has been revoked since January.

Authorities said he wrote illegal prescriptions for dangerous drugs inside the clinic. According to his website, he's been offering acupuncture, detox and laser light therapy since he opened up in 2006.

Seminole County resident Jeanna Ceballos has heard of the clinic.

"As a community we put so much faith in our doctors, and at the end of the day they really are strangers," Ceballos said.

According to the DEA, Lynch had prescribed drugs such as hydrocodone over the Internet, which is why the agency revoked his license on Jan. 18.

Authorities said that on top of the 22 drug charges he faces, he's also facing 33 charges of Medicaid fraud.

The attorney general's office said he was collecting money from Medicaid during the time he didn't have a license.

"If it is true, he should be going to jail," Medicaid recipient David Orozco said.

No one answered the door when WFTV stopped at Lynch Longwood home.

Authorities weren't able to say how much he may have defrauded Medicaid, or how many patients were affected.

Lawyers for Lynch didn't call WFTV back. Lynch will go before a judge during an arraignment in January.
