DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.,None — WFTV obtained video of a man who was beaten on the infield of Daytona International Speedway!
The victim, Roy Adams, said he blacked out because he was hit so hard.
"I kind of like, blacked out at that point. You can see how I lay there before I actually try to get up," Adams said.
The video shows several bouncers on top of and kicking Adams, who had just left a private party.
Adams told WFTV he was nearly unconscious after the largest bouncer kicked him in the face twice while he was on the ground.
Adams just filed a lawsuit against Daytona International Speedway, a promotion company, and Andepa Security, the company that employed the bouncers.
His attorney said the force was more than excessive.
"They basically jump him, and attack, threw him outside, and they exacted their will on him," attorney LaDray Gilbert said.
"To take a guy outside, throw him on the ground and kick him in the face, that's malicious. The part where they kick him is not reasonable at all, there's no explanation for that."
Adams said it started with a verbal altercation, then the security guards surrounded him when he left a party at the speedway's 500 Club.
The incident happened in 2010, but Adams said his mouth is still damaged, and he also needs knee surgery.
So far, no charges have been filed by the Daytona Beach Police Department.
Adam's attorney said he hopes they can settle outside of court.
The speedway refused to comment on the pending litigation.
