Man accused of luring online victims to Eustis, forcing them to perform sex acts

EUSTIS, Fla. — A man was arrested on charges of luring victims whom he met online and forcing them at gunpoint to perform sexual acts before robbing them, Eustis police said Monday.

Police said James Rolle Jr., 24, might be involved in four separate but similar cases.

Authorities said Rolle was charged in connection with two cases in June in which the victims identified Rolle as the perpetrator.

According to court documents obtained by Channel 9, at least one of the victims had posted an escort ad. According to police, after the woman traveled to Lake County, she was assaulted at gunpoint and robbed.

According to the documents, a Jacksonville woman told police she was forced to perform a sex act on Rolle at gunpoint. She said he then left with her purse and keys.

"He was convincing them to come into the city, and once they were in the city he was robbing them and convincing them to perform sexual acts on him," Eustis police Detective Jim Franquiz said.

Police said Rolle lured at least four victims into the city limits.

One of Rolle's neighbors said she was surprised by the arrest.

"I thought he was a good child, that's what I thought. I didn't know he was going around doing stuff like this," neighbor Geraldine Harvard said.

Some neighbors told Channel 9's Karla Ray that they had heard rumors of the allegations.

According to court documents, a friend of Rolle's gave police one of the victims' credit cards, and that card tied Rolle to one of the cases.

We're asking if any other victims see him on the news and believe they were victims, contact the Eustis Police Department," Franquiz said.

Rolle is in the Lake County Jail on charges of sexual battery with a firearm, two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of depriving use of 911.

His bail was set at $340,000.
