Domestic dispute likely led to fatal Orlando Walgreens shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. — Police said they've taken a killer off the streets, but they're still trying to figure out the motive behind the fatal shooting outside an Orlando Walgreen's.

Police arrested 21-year-old Jeremiah Lovett Monday night in Apopka. Lovett is accused of killing Kevin Clarke at the Walgreens on Pine Hills Road last week.

According to police, deputies responded to reports of the shooting about 1 a.m. on Thursday. When deputies arrived, they found Clarke, 23, dead in the parking lot of the store.

Investigators said the victim was confronting his girlfriend, who was also the mother of his child, about having a relationship with Lovett.

Police documents said Lovett got a gun from a nearby car and then opened fire.

Six .40 caliber casing surrounded the victim. Detectives said the shooter fired one round into Clarke's stomach, and then stood over him and fired five more.

Lovett is being held in the Orange County Jail on no bond.
