Man found dead in Orlando apartments was targeted, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. — A man was found dead inside an Orlando condominium late Wednesday, according to police.

Police said Luis A. Maldonado Jr. was targeted in the homicide.

Officers said they responded to a “suspicious incident" call at the 4800 block of Luge Lane at the Millennia Park condominium complex, where they found the man dead in the home.

“We heard it was a shooting and I can tell you that we are shocked,” resident Greg Smith said. “Obviously, we have our own little enclave and we think we are safe, but you are really never safe.”

No one has been arrested in the homicide. Police have not said how Maldonado Jr. died.

There are surveillance cameras around the condo complex, but video has not been released.
