ORLANDO, Fla. — A security officer in a mall parking lot shot someone who fired at him early Sunday, Orlando police said.

The shooting occurred around 3 a.m. near the 2100 block of West Colonial Drive in Orlando in the Magic Mall plaza, police said.
Police said the security officer asked people to leave the parking lot when someone argued with the officer, pulled out a gun and shot at him.

The security officer returned fire, hitting the shooter, police said.
The man suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

Orlando police said patrol units were in the area and responded immediately.
This is not the first time someone has been shot in the Magic Mall parking lot.
In March 2015, Kirk Easy, 42, was shot multiple times in the parking lot, according to investigators.

The nightclub which he was shot outside of, Caribbean Hut, is listed as a restaurant during the day and a nightclub Friday through Sunday nights.
