Michigan Street in Orlando closed after pedestrian hit, killed

ORLANDO, Fla. — A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed Friday night, prompting the closure of a section of Michigan Street in Orlando, police said.

At about 9:20 p.m., police responded to a crash on Osceola Avenue and Michigan Street.

Police said an unidentified person was struck by a vehicle that was heading east on Michigan Street.

The pedestrian died at the scene.

Both directions of Michigan Street between Delaney Avenue on the east and Mills Avenue on the west are expected to be shut down for several hours.

Police did not release information on the driver who hit the pedestrian.
