More than 40 taken in by woman's discount theme park ticket scam, Orange County deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orange County woman currently accused of selling 19 people fake tickets to Central Florida theme parks at a steep discount could have twice as many victims, investigators said Wednesday.

Ashley Buck is accused of taking online payments from people looking for cheap theme park tickets and sending them bogus confirmation codes, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Cory Maez said he paid Buck $75 for three tickets to Universal Studios only to find out later that the codes she sent in return were worthless.

“I still feel bad and wish I hadn’t mentioned anything to my daughter about it,” Maez said.

Buck is accused of swindling $4,500 from the 19 victims listed on one Orange County Sheriff’s Office report.

Investigators said they believe the number of victims is actually more than 40 people.

One victim was listed as a foster parent to six children who bought the tickets from Buck because she couldn’t afford full-price admission.

Buck was being held at the Orange County Jail on dozens of charges, including forgery, grand theft and fraud.
