Dayka said the painting depicts a bear named “Future,” who lives in the year 2060 and whose world is affected by climate change.

The painting also includes other animals native to Florida, including a panther and a pelican.

“I thought it was important to shed light on animals that are basically extinct or very close to it,” Dayka said.
