New Universal theme park files permits for possible hotel component

ORLANDO, Fla. — Editor’s note: This story is available as a result of a content partnership between WFTV and the Orlando Business Journal.

Universal Orlando Resort is working on several aspects of its new Epic Universe theme park, including future hotel components.

That’s according to Orange County permits filed in early February by Universal that describe site work for project P912S -- which is rumored to be one of multiple hotels at the new expansion.

In addition, the county’s permit page has a category box that defines the permit is for a hotel/motel/timeshare type.

Executives with Universal were not available for comment.
