OCALA, Fla. — Officials say an Ocala Utility Services lineman was electrocuted while on the job Friday evening.
The incident happened around 5:45 p.m. near the Weeks Auction Co., located at 4851 West S.R. 40 in Ocala.
The victim, 31-year-old Timothy Beard, died while working to repair an electric transformer in the area, according to officials.
Beard had been employed with OUS since 1999. He became an electric lineman in 2009, officials say.
The Ocala Police Department is investigating the death.
